Thanks to a book my dad got me for christmas, I have found a new series to read. It’s called The Hollows. There are about 11 or 12 books in the series so far. I’m into books that deal with the supernatural, such as vampires, witches, vampire hunters, etc. I’m a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake books and Charlaine Harris’s True Blood novels, so this series is perfect for me. That being said, I do have a few issues with the books right now (I’m almost done with the 2nd.)
-At times I have problems following the plot. I’m not sure if it’s because I zone out or because it gets too involved for me, or whatever, but I get lost sometimes.
-I feel like I can’t relate to the characters. There is something about these characters that make it hard for me to love them. but as i’m only on book two, maybe that will change.
-I don’t know what I think of Rachael, the main character. She is a bounty hunter type person, and is also a witch. She’s not a badly written character, and she does seem to have depth to her character, but there’s something about her that bothers me. I love Anita Blake, Laurell K. Hamiltons protagonist, and I really liked Sookie Stackhouse, so I’m hoping I grow to like Rachael too.
So, if you like the Anita Blake Series and the True Blood books, then you just might enjoy this series too. Give it a try and please, feel free to share your thoughts on it.
